The differentiation of our offer is related to a unique and complete experience that we provide from the Alentejo region.
A charm boutique hotel, in the heart of the Alentejo Wineland, could not exist without its identity: the production of wine and, with it, wine tourism. The cellar that stands in Herdade de Torre de Palma as a magical space, is the hallmark of the cult around in the wine. We combine the gastronomy and wines of the region to provide experiences where Alentejo traditions stand out, we include the local producers and promote the products of this wine region.
Torre de Palma has come a long way in sustainability. It is one of the first hotels in Portugal to have been given a Biosphere international certification, which declares the hotel’s environmental and social sustainability, as well as its business sustainability. See the manifesto from Biosphere here. Energy consumption derives from photovoltaic panels and the water is entirely heated by means of solar panels. We have included a drip irrigation system which comes from our good use of the existing water. In our parking lot, you will find the Tesla destination charging system which includes two chargers, one exclusive for Tesla cars and one for any electric or hybrid car.
For the third consecutive year, we have been nominated one of the top ten most sustainable hotels in Portugal (Boa Cama Boa Mesa Portuguese Guide). Sustainability is closely linked to social responsibility. Therefore, the staff members are mostly local. We are engaged in the promotion of local products and producers, via the commercialization of genuine regional products such as cheese, unique sausages, olive oil, honey and also the traditional woolen blankets and overcoats.
